Hannah & Taylor-Reign's Cheesecake Wedding Cake
Three Floating Cheesecakes · Custom Handmade Stand
When Donna first contacted Nadine about her son Taylor-Reign's wedding, she had a very specific request. There was just one little problem — Taylor-Reign doesn't eat cake. But he does love baked cheesecake. So, naturally, his wedding cake had to be cheesecake.
Donna had already contacted nine other cake businesses, many much closer to the wedding venue at Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Surf Life Saving Club. Nobody would make cheesecakes as a wedding cake. Nobody would deliver them. But Donna had found her Cake Lady.
Recipe Development, Trial by Trial
This is where Custom Recipe Development becomes such an important part of creating something outside the ordinary. Rather than choosing from a standard menu, there was the opportunity to trial, test, taste and refine. Nadine had never made a 12-inch baked cheesecake before — so the upcoming Palms Pavilion Wedding Showcase became the perfect testing ground. It baked beautifully. It cut perfectly. Anxiety officially reduced.
The Cheesecakes
Donna had a very specific cake stand in mind, built for three cheesecakes — but the original design was unavailable, and quotes from local metalsmiths were prohibitive. So Chris, Nadine's Logistics Manager and unofficial Cake Stand Builder, built one from scratch using cake boards. Problem solved.
Then came the flowers, ribbon and the detail that mattered most to Donna: she wanted the cheesecakes to appear as though they were floating. Megan from Me Oh My Flowers disguised the acrylic poles beautifully within the floral design, working from Donna's own choice of ribbon, photographed and sent through so every detail matched.
Wedding Day: Cheesecake Delivery
Chris came along for the delivery — parking at the Surf Club was limited, so while he moved the car, Nadine unpacked and began decorating the 12-inch cheesecake. Megan arrived to finish the other two on the stand, and the Local Honey Cheesecake was brought in last with its fresh fruit to complete the scene.
Three beautiful cheesecakes. Flowers. Ribbon. Fresh fruit. A handmade stand. And three cheesecakes appearing to float in amongst the flowers — exactly the vision Donna had brought six months earlier.
Hannah and Taylor-Reign's guests were blown away — not just by how the cheesecakes looked, but by the flavours, the textures, and the fact that this was a wedding cake created specifically for them. Donna called the next day, thrilled, and shared how the whole day had gone.
