Planning Your Wedding Cake When You Don't Live Nearby
Not every couple planning a wedding on the Barrington Coast, in Newcastle or in Sydney lives anywhere near Smiths Lake, and that's completely fine. Every custom cake consultation is designed to feel just as warm and personal whether it happens across a kitchen table or across a video call.
What a Video Consultation Covers
A video consultation isn't a shortened stand-in for an in-person one, it's the very same conversation, simply held on screen. Depending on your tier, that's 10, 20 or 40 minutes spent talking through flavours, fillings, icing, colour, texture, tiers, proportions and styling together, starting from your wedding date, venue and guest numbers.
What to Have Ready Before Your Call
Real Proof This Works Beautifully at a Distance
Jess & Jade's three-tier orchid wedding cake — an elegant, cohesive design finished in Nadine's signature buttercream — was designed entirely without ever meeting in person.z
Jess & Jade's Orchid Wedding Cake
Busy schedules meant the whole design process happened by email and video consultation, refining flavours and styling together from a distance. The result was elegant and cohesive, and in Jess's own words afterwards, "the best wedding cake I've ever seen." Distance simply never became part of the conversation, because with the right process, it didn't need to be.
What Happens After the Call
From there, your cake is designed, baked and finished in the Smiths Lake kitchen with exactly the same ingredients, process and care as every other cake Nadine creates, then delivered personally to your venue on the day, wherever that venue happens to be.
Living further away doesn't mean a smaller or lesser conversation about your cake, it just means having that conversation on screen rather than in person. Everything else about the care, the process and the final result stays exactly the same.
